Video Transcript

"So when you are starting to work on your horse you want to evaluate your horse's different, the different areas of your horse's body to see if there are specific things that need to be worked on and you do that by palpate their top line, run you finger down along with your thumb, all the way down from their ears along the back, along, all the way along the back, down the hindquarters all the way down and you can see that Ice-Man is flinching a little bit as I work on different areas. I found a bit of a knot up here and he was flinching as I pressed down here and there's another knot there. You will palpate this area in front of the shoulder blade just by applying a little bit of pressure with your 4 fingers. You will check the chest area by scooping it a little bit. You check their abdomen. Palpate in the ribs with your fingertips and you can do a more thorough palpation of the hindquarters just by running your fingers down this way, keeping an eye on the horse's head and looking at his ears while you're working on him to see how he's feeling about the whole thing."
