"Alright, for salmon and lakers, we're going to run about a twelve foot long leader, off of this swivel of good strong, maybe fourteen or even twenty pound mono-filament line. And then again, the split shot, is set off just about two feet above a snailed hook. A pretty good sized snailed hook, maybe a number six. On the northern pike side, the, you want to tie the bullet weight, actually tie it to the nylon braided line and have the leader come off of the bullet weight. For northern pike, you only need about six feet of good strong leader. Often times, you want to think about using a steel leader for the last foot to foot and a half. Pike are a very voracious fish, hard fighting, and have some big teeth. So, you want to put a pretty good hook on that, and possibly even re-placing mono-filament leader with a steel leader for pike."
