"Okay, so now we're going to talk about hook placement. We've already discussed where the hook goes as far as being inserted into the bait fish. Remember, that's just behind the front of the dorsal fin and under the back bone so that it doesn't damage any organs. You can see that the fish is still quite lively. That would go down in the hole and if we're fishing for salmon, it's going to be just under the ice. We're going to release just enough of that leader to be behind the ice. And we're going to set this up so that when something swims by, the reel will spin and the flag will go up. It's very important to make sure that this flag is set up so that the rod, the trigger is on the inside and pushes it out when the fish is triggered, when the hook is set. So we want to set that up and compensate for any windage. Notice that you're, on some days it's going to be a little windier than others, you're going to want to set your drag on your reel a little bit tighter."
