"Now here is a solid design auger and unlike the folding auger it's quite a bit more sturdy and rigid. It is solid in that there will be no flexibility in the stem. So when you're going to drill a hole through anchor ice you're going to want to use a solid stem auger, one that you can really put pressure down on the top and drill using a lot of strength and your own body weight. You do not want to put your body weight on an offset auger with a folding design especially if you're my size. So an in-line solid auger where the stem is straight down through can get into the ice, anchor ice particularly very quickly. We will talk about anchor ice in just a moment. So this is your solid auger, left or right hand usable and can drill straight down through very quickly."
