"In this clip, I'm going to talk to you a little bit more about the oil finishes that take a while to build up. They are durable, but they take a while to get a nice coating on it, to make the finish durable. And for that it takes several applications. So the first finish goes on and I let it sit and dry for twenty-four hours. The second coat, before it goes on, I have to use 4.0 steel wool and lightly scuff the piece and this acts to remove any dust particles that may have settled on the bowl or any drips from the finish and it just smoothes out any rough areas from the finish or dust. And then before I apply the second coat, again, I want to remove any dust particles, by using either compressed air or a tack cloth."
