"So, with back stretching, the idea is that we want to allow the spine to extend, to lengthen and expand. So, when we're in these positions of stretching the back, the idea is of breathing into the body and allowing the oxygen, the air, the breath that we're taking in, to fill up and make space in our body. So, it takes some serious relaxation of sinking down into these positions and allowing this breath to take over and become the most important thing we're doing. By doing this, we're giving our body the opportunity to really get into to really expand into these stretches and bring the energy up the spine and stretch the various parts of the back that we're addressing. So, concentrate on the breath, in and out through the nose, expanding the abdomen as you breath in, contracting it as you breath out and you'll find the most benefit."
