"The number seven. Another number that is a little bit unusual in it's structure. And, so if we break it into it's parts I think it's a little easier to understand. The seven begins with the horizontal stroke, which is hanging from the guideline. The next stroke is the spine. But, the seven has a curved spine. It doesn't have a straight spine. So, we have one and two. Now, I think it's helpful to think about this as sort of being poised almost like a cantilever where we have the spine coming down to the baseline just about below where the number starts. So, you might notice that as I'm making this letter I'm twisting the pen a little bit. I'm giving a little more weight to the spine then would naturally occur in drawing that stroke without twisting the pen. So, again you'll need to practice the seven to get some good balance for it."
