"My name's Owen Roth and in this clip I'll be talking about how to be a good interviewer during a video interview. Well the first thing is obviously you want to know your questions. You want to prep them in some way. And I would highly suggest you go beyond just memorizing them in your head. It would be nice to get some note cards. Jot them down. Maybe not jot down the whole question but reminders because when you're giving the interview things are going to happen. You want to be listening. You want to be engaged with them. So to have something that's just a reminder even if it's just three words like travel. That's one word. And if you look at that and it just brings up the reminder of, oh yeah now I need to talk about that and you can state it as you want. And you don't want to be scanning through an entire sentence long question because then it breaks the pace of the interview. You just want little reminders, little phrases so you can be listening the whole time, glance down, read it and then ask them the question without scanning the whole time. You nod and stop listening for a second and then by the time you ask the question it's out of context or it just doesn't work. So you want to be listening the whole time and you want to show them that you're listening. You want to make eye contact. Nodding your head, just being interested. Being engaging because that's what makes a good interviewer. That's what makes a good interview is being, having a conversation. Because they're not talking to a machine. They're talking to someone else and that's where they'll really open up is if you're interested and you're engaged. So know your questions but also know how to have a good conversation as well."
