"Now I'll teach you some signs for fruits. Apple, apple; banana, banana; orange, orange; grapes, grapes; pineapple, pineapple; strawberries, strawberries. There might be some other fruits that don't have signs -- grapefruit. It's okay to spell them. If you meet a deaf person that happens to know a sign for a particular fruit, then they can share that with you. There are various signs in different regions in the United States. Not everyone signs everything exactly. So you might meet a deaf person in one area that signs banana one way, and then you'll meet another person that signs it another way. They might sign it to signify the shape of the actual fruit. So be open-minded when you're learning some of these signs, and as you come across different deaf people. Practice those fruit."
