"So now I'm ready to go ahead and make the stem. I'm going to take my left index finger and push down towards the center, and then I'm going to take my right thumb on top of this little area that I've left for the flange, and push towards my left index finger, and now I'm going to just pinch with my left hand and compress with my right as I pull that area up. Now having a stem like this, like I said it keeps the lid from falling out of the teapot. So now I will check with my calibers, it's about the right diameter, but I do want to give it a little bit of a curve, so I'm going to take my rib here and I'm just going to push that area up. I'm using my left finger to stabilize that, now I'll check again. It's a teeny tiny bit too wide, and the way to fix that is just to push in just a little bit with a sponge, and then I'm going to take my hard rib and I'm going to undercut the lid. And I'll set that aside to dry."
