"Now I'm going to show you how to grease the slides on your trumpet. First of all, I like to use this lanolin cream, as well as there are various amounts of slide grease on the market, any of them are fine. This evaporates slower and it lasts longer on your trumpet. And also a little bit of valve oil on it. I'm going to start by removing my slides, and this, of course, needs to be done every time you play. Remove all your slides. We'll use this lanolin cream for just the main tuning slide, which is this long one right here. We'll just put just a tiny bit on there, and what I like to do is put a little bit of valve oil on there just to loosen it up a little bit. Just put one slide in first and work it in and then go to the next one, go ahead and put that one on in. The second slide here, do that, put that one on in. Now for these, the first and the third slide here, I just want to use a little bit of valve oil. Those need to move back and forth as you are playing, so we want to keep those a little bit more faster moving than the other parts. I'll do this one, and I'll do this outer one here, put it back in there. And that is how to properly grease your slides."
