"The first thing that you need to do when you're starting your wreath and actually going to construct it is thinking of the materials you're going to need. There's several different kind of bases that you can use. You can buy a grapevine base in your craft store. There's also a Styrofoam round circle base. I like to make my own. And by grabbing vines or things that I've trimmed out of the yard I'm able to create some free flowing shapes of my own in any size I would like it to be. This is like for a smaller one. And this is something that we'll hang on the door and I'll be working on this one here today. You can also get some artificial grapevines and make your own contemporary, a very traditional style looking wreath. You also need flowers that you're going to use. Make sure they're for outdoors. That they'll be able to hold the elements. Try to get different sizes to create interest and what have you. I would also make sure you have some moss. This is to cover any of your construction that you don't want to see and help hide any wiring that is visible when you're making your wreath. So the first thing you need to do is get a form and then from there select your flowers that you're going to create your landscape with."
