"These are two medium format negative carriers. Both six by six square. So, you would use these negative carriers when you are using a medium format camera. And, these are a little bit different from each other. They look very similar, but they actually do completely different, well, completely different things in a way. This carrier right here is a filed out negative carrier. Meaning that, when I print, I am going to see these file marks on my print. Something that was pretty popular for photojournalists to have a black line around your print to show that you were not cropping the image. They wanted to make sure that you took a picture as you saw it. There was no cropping allowed. You had to either get up close, or get farther back. Just something I think is pretty interesting. This negative carrier does not allow you to do that. It just does not have the black line around it. You could still print full frame, but you are not going to have that, sort of, fine art photo-journalistic effect that you would get with the filed out negative carrier. Now, you can buy both of these, an unfiled and a filed. They sell them. I like to have both around my darkroom to depend upon how I want my image to look. Black line or no line."
