Video Transcript

"When teaching your dog to come, you start with short distances and then you lengthen the distance they need to come to you and the distance they can get away before they need to respond. One way to do this is to use a long line. This one is a 15 ft. line. It's just nylon webbing, you can get them anywhere, and it allows you to transition them. So as you start you're only going to use about 6 ft., and you're going to let them get away. "Go get it. Get it. Good. Come. Good." And you want them to turn and start to come toward you. That's really the first step. As long as they look at you, reward them. As they come to you, you're going to try to get them to sit, and this is a finished recall. "Good. Good. Get it.""
