"What I'm getting ready to show you now is something that I like to call a flame detail. And what it is, is I have three rows of this green right here making it four complete rows of a single crochet. And what I did, was I took a different color, (you could of changed it to a third different color if you wanted, but I wanted to stick to my blue) and you just go on multiple levels, bringing your yarn back down, to right here. And you can do it either up or down, it really just depends on which way you're working. But the easiest way is to go back down over the rows you've already made. This is something that is really easy, but it looks great when you're done. It doesn't take very much time, it works in a very similar way to the double crochet, and you can take it as far down as you want. If you wanted to do six rows and do it all the way down that way, that's fine. But since we're just doing a hair piece, I just wanted to stick with just the three, and create this nice little detail. It's in the shape of a triangle, but because of the different, the way the row's going, I like to call it a flame detail, and it sounds cooler anyway. But what we're going to do is, I'm going to show you how to start it, and then we're going to work it all the way around, and you'll see the nice kind of flare that it adds to this little hair piece we're working on."
