"Alright, first let's talk about analyzing characteristics. And the first thing that I recommend that you take a look at is culture. Now when I'm talking about culture, I'm talking about where is your audience from. And you probably have lots of different cultures making up your audience. You might have people, and when I talk about culture, I'm talking about culture within the United States like Texas vs New York, California vs Florida. All of us that live in different States, we have slightly different cultures. But I'm also talking about different places around the world. You might have Americans, you might have Britons, you might have Australians, you might have Indonesians, you might have Chinese, Japanese. Whatever it is, first take a look at the cultural makeup of the audience. Then based on that cultural makeup, you want to take into consideration, things that could be offensive to people of that culture as you pick your topic, and as you write your speech. So you might have to do a little further research once you find out the cultures of where your audience is from."
