"Hi, I'm Matt Goms and today we're talking about band choreography. The reason that we do band choreography, I think nowadays, is more for the fun, the competition and the kind of the art form to it that it is. Band choreography, or I guess marching band in general, is an art form in itself. It's a way to put a visual representation of a certain piece of music onto a field using shapes and forms and dance and color. All kinds of different aspects to give you that visual representation of a piece of music. So not only are you hearing the music, you are able to see people actually putting that visually out on a football field such as this one. We've got a field here, normally during the year, in the fall season, which is usually when marching band happens a lot. It's in coordination with football season, and right now it's spring time and as you can see, there are no lines on this field. Normally, on a football field they'd have lines on the field and we'd be out here and those lines; we'll talk about a little bit later, but they actually help to determine where we're going to be on the field."
