"Skateboard mounting hardware. When you're buying mounting hardware, you'll notice that the top of the hardware will be one of two things. The top of the mounting hardware will either be a Phillip's head top, or it will be an Allen key top. Now, there's no one that's better than the other, it just depends on what kind of setup you end up having around the most. If you want to keep a screwdriver around, then of course, you'll get the Phillip's head. And if you want to keep the Allen key around more often, then you'll get the Allen key. Some people think that the Allen key strips a little less than the Phillip's head does, so that's why you might choose that one, although, sometimes, the Allen key does strip also. Now, the other thing you want to make sure that you get, is, you get a length that is right for your deck width, plus the width of your trucks that you're choosing to use. Now you see, as I put this bolt through the board, and as I add a truck to it, you'll notice that this size works perfect plus the bolt on top. And there are not that many threads that are showing outside of it. And this is desired amount of threads showing. Now, if you were to add one of these riser pads, you'll notice that that's not enough height there for the bolt to get on top of it, and get in there tight. What you want to do is make sure that you get a one inch mounting hardware, if you're using risers. And you'll want the seven-eighth inch pipe if you're not using risers. Now, one thing you always want to make sure when tightening your bolts is that the plastic that runs inside the bolt gets all the way down to the top of the bolt. Past where your finger tightening is. What this will do, once the tool is put on there, is make sure that the bolt is locked, and it won't come off. When you're skating that's very important. You want to make sure that the bolts you get hold the truck on as tight as possible. There should be no movement whatsoever in the truck. So, all four bolts should be very tight. And this is how you choose the right bolts."
