"So this painting is the Death and the Maiden from Egon Schiele and it was painted in 1915. And Scheile was a representative of the Vienna citizen and he could be a kind of a follower of Klimt, but they died at the same year. So, it was not a real possibility from him unfortunately. He, what is important about him that he was a really extravagant personality. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna but he was fired after a few years because he couldn't agree with the professor who were teaching him. So, but he moved a lot also at that time, not only in Vienna but also in today, Czech Republic and his main topic were always the woman, the death, a kind of contemplation about death. That was his kind of obsession of him. This painting is from his last years. In 1915, he married a woman Edith, that's what we can see on the painting. And it's really interesting how he found a connection to the Vienna Veda Mayor because Schubert had the quartet play that The Death and the Maiden and that's what he wanted to paint on at that time, Schiele as well."
