"Alright folks, in this clip I'm going to teach you how to draw a trench coat like the detective might wear. We'll start by drawing a collar. It's a high rise collar, you can have it popped up, you can have it down, but it looks just, I was going to tell you it looks way cooler if you wear it up. And I'm going to draw it just so that it's kind of coming across the front like this so you draw one kind of coming down like that and then the other collar will be tucked underneath like that. And this guy could be wearing like a turtle neck or whatever underneath, it doesn't matter. And we'll come down here and draw the first button there, second button, whole little list of buttons. And then the other thing that makes a trench coat look like a trench coat is draw the little shoulder flaps right up there on the top. And the edges of the coat you can come on down and kind of make them kind of a little bit wrinkled. A lot of trench coats also have a little band that goes across it and then ties off kind of there on the side. And obviously the buttons continue on down so you reach the bottom. And I would say it's best not to draw the line all the way down the coat, but definitely show where the pockets are and really call some definition to the collar as well. That's where a lot of the detail needs to go. So you see the rough shape. So the key thing is you get the shoulder flaps down, the collar, you can do, obviously you can do single breasted or double breasted. That's completely up to you but that's just basically how I would go. Something a little like that, and that my friends is the trench coat."
