"Now we are ready to throw the exterior part of the lid. It is unimportant exactly how wide it is but you do want it to be wider than the top piece of the dome that you just threw. It is going to shelter the house itself from rain. So the first thing you need to do is take your right thumb and put it underneath to get that lump of clay that you are going to pinch and then we are going to pull this up and out remembering that you want to keep this lower than this because when we flip this upside down this needs to hover so that it can be covered in glaze. Now we will take our rib tool and go in and under making sure to push up and support this so that it doesn't fall down and pull out and once you are happy with the shape of the lid or the dome here just take your sponge, lean the rim a little bit more and now we are done with that part of the lid and we will let it set up, we will flip it over and trim it and add the knob."
