"So now we're ready to grind our kiln shelves. Any spot where your pot might have left a little bit of glaze on your shelf you need to remove before this goes back into the kiln again. This glaze will remelt and stick to the bottom of a pot if you set it back on there. So the way that we're going to get rid of this is by using a rotary grinder to just grind it right off. We'll kiln wash over it and the shelf will be good as new to go back into the kiln. You're going to need a Meta dust mask to do this and you're also going to need safety goggles because when you're grinding it creates a lot of dust and also it can create little shards of glass from the glaze that you're grinding off. So you want to make sure and protect yourself."
