"So we are throwing a pitcher and now I am going to show you how to handle the top part of our pitcher, so it has a nice pouring place and also so it is formed nicely. Now I am going to bring in these walls slightly so here we go. I am using the same throwing technique as before and we are starting to work our way up through the walls and collar it in. Any extra slurry that is on there you can take that off as it can throw you off center. Now depending on how extreme you want it I can take my hands, wet them down and do what is called collaring which is just squeezing and pushing the clay in and I am going to allow the top here to flare out and I will show you why in just a minute. Now it is important to note that I have left enough clay up on top here to do this with and when you first start throwing you will have enough clay up on top here to do this with. When you first start throwing you will find it very difficult to have enough clay at the top of your form to do stuff with but it is very important and it is something you should practice. As you can see I have collared in the center here and I have moved up and created a bowl shape on the top. So now we are ready to form the pouring spout on the top of this. It is sort of a technique in and of itself and I would like to show you that in the next segment so we are going to do that next."
