"Ok in this segment we are going to cover removing the driver side backrest for the rear seat. And basically this model car is equipped with a split backseat that folds down for hatchback usage. And up in the corner it's got a release knob, you lift that up and that releases the seat. And the first procedure to removing this back for a seat we have to remove this push pins. Now I've previously removed a bunch of them just to save time. And that's where this special tool comes in. The push pins just slide in and they are designed for a one time use. They can be reused but you just slide the tool right underneath it and just simply push down. And that pops the pin out of the fastener and that's where these come in handy. If you don't have this tool, a pair of angled dikes work real good, once again you just want to go just up underneath it and you don't want to squeeze and cut it, just close it up tightly a little bit and pry down. They have retainers on these ones in the carpets so the push pins will stay here. And if they will push back through the hole it retain the carpet tightly they can be reused. If not they are readily available n most all the interior colors at your local auto parts store. They are relatively inexpensive, it just depends on the application and how they came out. There is just no telling until you get them out whether you need to replace them or not. But there is one, two, three, four, five, six of them fastening this carpet onto the rear. Once the pins, push pins are pulled out, pull up on the carpet and that slides this upper plastic bracket out of the catch in the back of the seat. Now we can pull the carpet down and out of the way and we needed to do that cause the carpet holds the seat to the car. Ok, the way this rear backrest is attached, all you have to do is remove one clip that holds this from sliding back and forth and it simply removes, there are no other fasteners there. And I can show you better once I get it out. But always on the outside of the vehicle, or the outside of the seat they'll be clips on the rear Honda and they use this design for many years. And just grab it with a pair of pliers and it's just a snap clip that goes over a shaft, and you can see where the pliers popped that out. Now this allows you to slide the backrest sideways and as it pops out of the bracket on the other side and back over. To give you a little better detail view, these two pins or a male pin on one side and a female pin on the other side is what holds the seat in. That plastic spacer in there keeps it from moving back and forth in the inside when coming out. Once you remove the spacer we can now slide the seat over to the right and that brings the female in off the other side connector. So it's a real ingenious design quick and easy to get out, once you get the carpet removed. And once again we'll set this to the side and keep that push pin, the spacial pin that locks it down with the seat so that we keep all the parts together. Please watch our next segment and we'll cover removing the passenger side rear backrest."
