Backpacking With Alcohol Stoves

"Right now, I want to talk a little bit about really light stoves. Usually, ultra lighters like to go for something really, really, really light. This alcohol stove weighs about an ounce. It doesn't cook very fast, but it does get the job done when you're out there. When you're out there sitting around; enjoying the campsite it isn't so bad. Basically, you take denatured alcohol; which you can get from any hardware store. You pour it in here. There's a little cup right here. This part heats the metal up, and when the metal gets heated up it vaporizes the alcohol inside, and you get a nice blue jet around here. This one is somewhat sophisticated. There are some simpler ones that don't have that feature, but are doing the same thing. Right here, we have a tablet stove. It utilizes a tablet, which you just place in the center. They're light; very easy to use. It can be small and compact; even smaller than this one, if you need. If you have any questions about these types of stoves, give your outfitter a holler."
