"I'd like to talk now about bottled filters. Some people just want to be able to take their bottle, fill it up, pop the filter on and just drink right away. A filter like this made by " kataine " it has a filter that goes inside the bottle and as you squeeze it, the water goes through a filter and then through a little iodine chamber which takes care of the viruses, purifies, takes care of the bacteria, protozoan?s and viruses. Sawyer, a different company has a slightly different system and the avoid using the chemical aspect, this will give you a little bit of an iodine taste to it. Sawyer uses a very fine basically a series of tubes within their cartridge that greatly increases the flow rate of the filter. This is a filter, they also have a purifier which will take out viruses. Their bottle which is not shown here is a polycarbonate bottle, a hard one, basically you just drink it up through a straw. But, the nice thing about this system is you can take the cartridge and you can place it in line with the hydration system. And, so then our hydration system becomes kind of a bottle filter, so to speak. I you have any questions, give your local outfitter a holler."
