Video Transcript

"Hi. In this episode I'm going to show you some of the components of 24 Yang style Tai Chi. It's and important aspect of exercise therapy in traditional Chinese medicine. It's also known as a martial art and has many health benefits. It can help reducing falls in the elderly. I find that it increases my eye-hand coordination immensely, and I've seen wonderful cases where it's been beneficial in lowering blood pressure and helping with stress for a number of people. It's often times known as moving meditation. So, the first couple of moves we're going to demonstrate, first is opening of Tai Chi, and remember it's always done relaxed, slowly and focuses on the breath. Open your Tai Chi to hold the ball, parting wild horse's mane. We do parting horse's mane three times, and the next move is white stork spreads wings. Every one of these moves can actually be translated into an actual martial arts defense move, and then brush-knead-push."
