"Today we're changing a rear latch on a ninety-six Ford Explorer. In this step I'm going to demonstrate the proper procedure for removing these Christmas tree-style fasteners. Now what I have here in my hands is a five-way. It's actually a carpenter's tool, but it works great right here on this forked end, you're going to take and pop these Christmas trees out with. You go ahead, and show you how it operates. And you see how the forked end works and you're just going to pull it out just like as if it was a nail. Just like so. Now it's pretty common to break these, they're like ten cents a piece at your local parts store, but if you can salvage them, saving money's always good. You're just going to continue working your way around, popping out all the Christmas trees you can see. There may be some fasteners on the inside holding it on as well and for the last one, right there. I'm just going to go ahead and take the door skin. And slip it up off of its fasteners, and set it aside. That is the proper service procedure for moving your Christmas trees and taking off the door skin."
