"Hello, my name is Jeff Fiffie. I'll be showing you how to perform basic field maintenance on your car. We're going to talk about your oil filter now. This is actually your oil filter here. Taking it out of the box, this is what it looks like. It's very important that the red gasket that you see here is seated firmly within the housing. This stops any oil from escaping outside of the gasket and causing oil leakage. The function of this oil filter is, what we talked about earlier, picks up and captures any contaminate that may be in your oil that risk of scarring engine parts. To remove this filter off of the housing, you will need an oil filter wrench. One way that I remember is, "Lefty loosey; Righty tighty.""
