"So the distributor cap which distributes the electricity out, so the electricity comes in through this lead here and comes out here. This is a little spring loaded contact and then this is the rotor which spins around and around. So it sits right there and the contact goes through there and this spins around and the spark jumps from here out the tip to each of these contacts which then sends the electricity out to the appropriate spark plug. So this thing spins around really fast inside of the distributor and distributes the spark out to the individual spark plug wires. This is called the rotor because it rotates around really fast inside of the distributor cap. Ok, now we're going to show you how to replace your distributor cap and the rotor. This is something that you can do yourself."
