Series Summary

Videography is the creative process of capturing images on video tape or DVD. This does include post production which is the addition of effects and filters on the video images. Since the invention of the video camera old film cameras have become less and less common among the industry. The speed of use and wide range of functionality that a digital video camera has is blurring the line between videography and cinematography. The internet has also had a hand in the development of videography. Video blogging, slide shows and gaming are all examples of new forms of media constantly developing and changing the art of videography. In this free video series a professional will give several tips and techniques for choosing a wedding. Everything from finding a videographer to coordinating with the photographer, signing contracts and making sure the videographer has back-up equipment.

"Hi, I'm Michael Burton and we are here to talk about how to choose a wedding videographer. First, I want to give you a rundown on the history of videography. Videography has changed in the last 10 - 15 years. Back then, most people didn't have a wedding videographer at their wedding, because they would turn out to be kind of cheesy and home video looking. Within the last 10-15 years, that has changed and people have started taking a more stylistic approach to it, where they tried to make it more like a music video or documentary style video where you have audio and people can give messages and things like that. Back in the day, everything was shaky, there was really low lighting and it wasn't the main focus of the wedding day. Now, it is becoming more and more popular up there along side wedding photographer. Back then, it was only a priority to have a photographer for the wedding day as a primary business. We are going to talk a little more in depth about why it's so important and how it is taking over the industry of weddings."
