"Some things to think about or consider when your baby is crying is number one it is not your fault. Your baby could be crying for any number of reasons, take a deep breath, relax and try to meet your babies needs. Figure out why your baby is crying and try to help soothe them. So figure out if something is happening, if they are trying to communicate something to you, it is not your fault. When a baby is crying for long periods of time, it can be very stressful and very frustrating for you as the caregiver because you are trying to figure what is happening, why is baby upset or what is baby trying to communicate and when you can not figure it out right away and baby is still crying it is very upsetting, it is very frustrating and stressful because you are just trying to help baby to feel comfortable, to feel calm. So one thing that we see is that sometimes, babies get shaken if they are babies that are crying for great lengths of time, sometimes people are frustrated and caregivers get frustrated and they may shake their baby. So I want to tell you never shake your baby, it is definitely not helpful at all. So sometimes you will see people that will be playing with their baby and they might pick up there baby and toss them high in the air and then catch them, well when they come down, if it is hard to catch, it can be a little too much shaking sometimes for babies, even if you are holding your baby and your baby and you are playing with them but you start to shake them a little bit as you notice even my babies head is moving quite a bit. Well if you think about that, their brain is right up here in the head, everything shaking around is not going to be beneficial for a baby. So really use some caution and care, try not to shake your baby at anytime and I am not only talking about if you are frustrated and we hear about shaken babies, because we would absolutely never do that but you also have to be careful even when you are playing with your baby, lovingly that you are not being too rough when it comes to shaking their head around or shaking their body. Just be sure that you are careful and cautious so we do not cause any harm."
