"So some of the things you might think about needing to help your baby stop crying of course is yourself because a lot of helping your baby stop crying is simply meeting their needs, talking to them and even holding them, picking them up and of course your baby. If we're going to demonstrate some ways to help your baby stop crying, we need our baby, our assistant here today to help us show those things to you. You may need a blanket so we'll talk about why you might, but you might need a blanket. There's lots of reasons and lots of good uses for a typical baby blanket, so we'll talk about that and how that might help us today. We have massage oil, and it's oil that is a grapeseed oil. It's an all natural, edible organic oil that you can buy at your grocery store, so you don't need a special oil for massage. You just need to think about something that's vegetable based, fruit based, all natural and is edible because babies will put their hands and their feet in their mouth if their receiving massage. It's absolutely normal. We want to make sure that we are using something that is edible so it's safe for the baby to take in, to ingest. Music, you might have some type of soothing music. Soothing not only for baby but also for you, so you may think about having some soothing music just playing in your home to help to keep you calm. Babies pick up on our stress. If we're not relaxed, they may not be relaxed, so it's important for us to keep calm if we can and relaxed. You might think about some white noise, and white noise could be in the form of a washer/dryer. It could be a fan, a loud fan or even your hairdryer. Your hairdryer can be a really useful tool for helping baby to hear some types of noises that in some cases really do help to soothe them, so we'll look at how all these things might be useful to help soothe a crying baby."
