"Now we're going to make some lattachino, which is an Italian word, and we're going to make lattachino that we're later going to use for mermaid hair. What we're going to do is pick a base color and several complementary colors, and I chose a dark topaz. You're going to want to make a blob at the end of your rod, but you're going to want to make a little bit bigger than we've been making in the past. What we're going to do is use an optic mold in order to shape the base that we're going to put the complementary colors on. So we're looking to find a blob about the size of a marble, and remember, you have to keep rotating your rod to keep it balanced. Now, when you have that you're going to let it cool just a second, and you're going to plunge the glass down into the optical mold. Now in each of these indentations we're going to take a complementary color of brown and put a stripe of that color in each indentation. Now opaque glasses heat a little slower than transparent glasses, so you're going to want to make sure that this opaque brown that I'm introducing into the flame, we introduce it very slowly. A tricky part of making lattachino is keeping both pieces of glass warm enough so that they don't thermo-shock. Now you have your second piece of glass ready to paint on the stripes."
