"All right, one of the things that you're going to want to do in preproduction work, is decide kind of what designs you're going to want to do and what diameter glass you're going to want to use to make those designs. What we're going to do now is called pulling a stringer. You get your glass to that honey spot, where it's orange and it's just a little bit droopy, and then you, some people use tweezers for this, other people use a piece of hot glass. What you're going to do is you're going to take that melted blob out of the flame, you're going to let it cool just a minute, and you're going to grab it with the tweezers and pull. This is going to make a stringer. The faster you pull, the thinner your stringer will be. If you want a thicker stringer then you need to pull very slowly. I'm actually going to use particular thin stringer to make some flower petals later on. So you would want to anticipate how much you would need to pull. I probably need to pull about two or three more of these, and again you just wait until you have a nice melted blob at the top, pull it out of the flame, let it set just a little bit, and pull."
