"I'm JK Dooley and I'm a professional artist and we're talking briefly here about stretching canvas, and I've gone ahead and almost finished this piece just so you guys could see what was going on here, and the staples have gone almost all the way to this side and all the way to this side. You leave a little bit of space, you fold your fold, and then you'll just continue on with the staples and you'll end up with a nice fold on the side and it makes a really nice presentation. One of the things that you'll see on this piece, since it's not finished yet, you'll see some wrinkles here. One of the things you want to make sure you don't do is overstretch. The purpose of stretching is to remove these wrinkles and have a taut surface, but you don't want to overstretch the piece because eventually what'll happen the ink will crack, the board will warp, there's a number of things that can happen with over stretching. So you want to make sure that you stretch it just enough and that will save you some heartache towards the end of the process as well, but just stretch it to get these wrinkles out, fold your corners and, also if you do put a protective gel coating on this at the end, like I do, it will also tighten the image up a little bit as well. So that's some basics on stretching canvas."
