My name's JK Dooley. I'm a professional artist and we're going to talk a little bit more about stretching canvas and we briefly touched on the tools that you need already. You've got your staple gun and some sand paper, your stretcher bars. These are actually special pliers that are made for stretching canvas, and you'll find sometimes you can buy these pliers that have some rubber insets. Actually I don't think they work as well. They're three times as expensive but they don't seem to grip the canvas as well. So these are your canvas pliers. You definitely need those and you'll need a right angle. You can actually use a tool, you know right angle tool, I simply find an index card or a book that has a pretty good right angle to it so when I measure my right angles when I build my frames I can just kind of set it there and make sure that it matches up. So one of the biggest tools that I think is really, really important that I did forget to mention before is patience. This is not a hard process but it can be frustrating when you're first trying to learn it. So definitely take your time. You may not want to use a piece that you've got your heart set on selling because you might make a mistake on it. So definitely practice, get your tools and have some fun with it because it really does work well and it'll save you some money in the long run because you won't have to pay somebody to do this for you.
