"Hi, I'm JK Dooley and I am a professional artist. Now we are talking a little bit about stretching your canvas. One of the things that you need to be careful with canvas and stretching is the image itself. The ink, if you overstretch this ink can crack and that obviously doesn't look very good on your piece. So, you want to make sure that you've properly treated your piece before you stretch it. So, you need to spray it. You need to find a quality spray that actually is an ultraviolet protection and it also allows the piece to be stretched without cracking the canvas, provided you know you don't overstretch it really badly. So, you need to coat it with this. Typically, they will recommend that you not brush a coating on a giclee made from canvas because it can damage the surface. But, I am very familiar with my products and I know what products I can use on mine and I actually do brush a coating on it as well. That gives me a little added protection and makes my pieces a little more durable and adds a little bit I think a better look to them. If you are doing this yourself, you definitely need to know your product and be comfortable with what you are using. So, just do some research and have fun with it."
