"Hi, I'm JK Dooley, I'm a professional artist, and we're talking about giclee reproductions today. And, I particularly like canvas to print on. One of the things about canvas though, it is more expensive. When I purchase canvas, it costs me approximately three times what I would for a roll of paper. So obviously that costs needs to be passed on to my customers, so it all works out in the end. So that's something that you need to keep in mind as well. If you're working with a printer, when they give you a price quote, they'll most likely give you a couple different quotes, one for paper, and one for canvas. And then you'll need to decide, based on the final product that you want, which one that you'd prefer. So, that's probably to me the biggest consideration with whether one chooses paper or canvas is the cost. But if you have a market, and people are enjoying your work, then chances are you won't have any trouble. Most people that paint oils typically prefer the canvas giclees because they feel that it represents their work better. If they paint watercolor sometimes they don't think to use canvas because for some reason they may not think it would be appropriate. But I think it works out fine for just about any medium that you paint in, or that you work in."
