Hi, I'm JK Dooley and I'm a professional artist, and I do printing for other artists as well as my own. And typically a question I get asked all the time is, is this going to be an identical match to my original. Ideally you'd want it to be as close as possible, but unfortunately a lot of variables come into play. You have to have a really quality photograph. There's a lot of steps in between to make sure that it's as close of a match as possible. I've been really fortunate with my work. As an example, here is an original piece of mine. And it's not the same horse, but it's a very similar coloring and you can see that this is a reproduction and you can see that the colors and a lot of the other things are very very closely matched. And a lot of that has to do because it's my work, and I'm doing the printing so it's very easy for me to match them. But if you're going to be doing this process through a professional printer you need to sit down with them and make sure that they do understand that you do want as close a match as possible. But it's really not realistic to always expect a dead-on match because that's just something that is not always the best way to go. So is it always identical, no, but you can get it pretty darn close.
