Watercolor Painting: Detailing a Rooster's Wings

What we're doing now is defining areas of shadows underneath the wing. And we want to bring the black up and show shadows of the feathers that are separated in the wing. And the black will go all the way down into the blue. And then behind the wing, we're going to define the back of the wing. And remember we don't want to fill it up, we just want to see the feathery look through the black. Now we're going to need to do some minor detail work but we can still use the larger brush to do that. So we're going to paint a little bit of black underneath the mask and up against the jowls and then the shadow area underneath the beak. We might want to bring a little bit of black down in here to work on the back side and tweak out the areas in the tail.
