"This is standard relaxation therapy for the scalp. If you ever had one of those really, really stressful days you might yourself running your fingers through your hair, even scratching your head, getting that sense of relaxation from it. A lot of people don't realize that we store a lot of tension in our scalp. Part of the reason that some men go bald, that tension cuts off circulation to the hair follicles. Scalp massage which is going to be gentle, almost, almost petrissage like motion obviously you can't really knead the scalp, but you are using your fingertips. And it is pretty much just the fingertips. Just a gentle massage, you got to be careful not to pull the hair, that's certainly counterproductive to getting your person to relax. I'm going to roll the head to the side, get around to the back of the scalp. And get your hands underneath. Make sure that the person keeps their neck relaxed, if you lift their head their natural inclination will be to help you lift it, don't let them do that. And that's going to be standard relaxation therapy for the scalp."
