"Let's practice an unweighted accented up movement with our hip. First let's bend our weighted leg. Keep our center nice and low. Press your foot in your big toe into the floor. Lift your heel and ankle in in our showgirl foot. Bring your belly in and lift your chest so you have nice posture. And make sure your weight is centered over your feet. So what we're going to do here is accent sharp up with the hip. So you're going to really use your side muscles as well to pull the hip as much as you're pushing from the floor. And then we're going to let it float down. So it's going to go up. Float down. Up. Float down. Up. Float down. Up. Float down. A little faster. Up. Float. Up. Float. That's it. Be sure to use your side muscles. Make sure your standing leg keeps your body from going up and down. You don't want to go up and down with your hip. Otherwise you lose your movement. So make sure that leg is standing nice and strong. And you're using your side and pull that in. Up. Float down. Up. Float down. Practice that in the mirror, and make sure your body stays in a nice position and upper carriage."
