"These are called sound bottles. This is a teacher made activity to teach the children how to decipher from different sounds. That is a match. I'm listening for sounds. Those are called sound jars. The point with this activity is to help the children to decipher between sounds, and it's very easy to make them quite different from one another because you put in any object that you like. When you make this activity you always test it out first, and listen to the sound to make sure that the children can tell the difference. As the year progresses, we make them a little bit more similar but at the beginning of the year, they're more like these ones. These are called sound jars."
