"All right. Welcome back, I'm Bobby Larew, and we're trying to become experts on diving. We just talked about relaxing on the board, making you sure you're not a robot. What we need to talk about now are the different types of front approaches that you can take. Usually what people do is either a three-step, a four-step or a five-step. Okay? For beginners, usually, you'll start with a three-step. When I was in high school I did a four. For the purposes of illustration in this video, we're going to do a front approach with five steps. Which means we'll be taking five steps through the whole hurdle. It'll look something like this, okay? Two, three, four, five, that's why it's a five step. And it's a forward approach, because we are walking forward toward the end of the board...or, toward the end of the board and into the pool. You also have what's called a back approach, where you would stand with your back to the water as you stand on the end of the board. We'd love to tell you about that another time, but right now we're going to work on the five-step approach, which means we're taking one, two, three, four, five steps."
