Video Transcript

"Off season training for football. The push press using dumbbells. This is the second exercise in our second superset. Following up with the lateral lunges. Jones is going to demonstrate the push press for us. He's got a strong base of support where his feet are right underneath his hips, so he's going to bring the dumbbells up. What we are going to do is we're going to power up through the lower body into a full extension through the shoulders; working this in combination with the lateral lunge. This is a very explosive exercise. We're going to do ten of these using both arms at the same time, pushing both feet into the ground; get the explosion and the strength to get the dumbbells up. It's not a shoulder press. It's a push press; working from the legs straight up. Working with his feet shoulder width, inside shoulder width apart, hip width apart is going to give him a very good power base of support and he's going to use that to help power up into his arms. His biceps will land up right by his earlobes each time, not in front, but by his earlobes. Good. What we are going to do is we are going to do three sets of those in the superset along with the lateral lunges and the next exercise."
