"A common tool pouch is a very important thing to carry your tools in as a firefighter. This tool pouch was constructed from old two and a half inch or three inch hose and inch and three quarter hose. The reason the tool pouch is so important is because certain tools like the pliers, the screwdriver, the punch, the knife or the wire cutters will eventually wear a hole in the bottom of the bunker pants pocket when carried without some type of protective device like the tool pouch. The tool pouch is constructed of a piece of three inch hose, with holes drilled and rivets through it and a piece of inch and three quarter hose with holes drilled and riveted on to the three inch holes. And that tool pouch makes a very handy carrying device for your tools. So when you pull your tool pouch out of your pocket as a firefighter you can access any one of the tools necessary that you need at that moment without wasting time or having to dig through your bunker gear or your turnout clothing trying to locate individual tools. A simple tool pouch can be constructed by any firefighter."
