"Hi, welcome back. My name is Megan Moe and today I'm showing you some things you can do while you're at the gym working out, that can protect you from the germs. So, right here we have probably the most popular piece of cardio equipment in the gym: the treadmill. And this is a pretty standard piece of equipment. You're going to see it in every gym you go to. But because it is so popular you also need to be very aware of all the germs that are possibly lurking here. So the best policy is to be suspect of everywhere you go in the gym. Treat it as if it is dirty even if you're not sure that it is. So, the first thing you want to do when walking up to one, as you approach it, you see these rails right here usually people put their hands, or touch these. One of the best things to do is to have it available, is take an alcohol solution an ethanol solution and spray down here. Spray it and wipe off all of the handles and everything else. Just taking a towel and spray, spray, wipe down. The one thing with ethanol is that for the best results you need to leave it on for a full minute and since most people usually don't want to take that much time, another option that you have is an antibacterial wipe which most gyms make available to you. And all you need to do with this is pull one out and wipe it down. And it doesn't take as much time as the ethanol to work. So just a quick wipe down. Up here, and you probably want to get up here on the display too. It's also a good idea. And another thing that some people prefer to do is to grab a couple of towels and they just place them over the rails, just like that so their hands actually never come into contact. If you do choose to do this, I would recommend that you still disinfect just in case your hands happen to make contact somewhere up here. But people put the towels down and they just hold onto this when they're walking, and it's a better barrier than just putting your hands down on their own. So next I'm going to show you some other pieces of cardio equipment and other pieces of equipment in the gym and how you can protect yourself from germs that may be on those."
