Video Transcript

"All right, as the strike comes in this time, I set up open stance. As the hand comes in, I deflect it with an ukenagashi. Step in, cut the hips out of the way, and cut the person to the ground. One, two. A little more. Full speed. As the person comes into strike I control the line here. If I get off the line, strike slow, then I have to move back in to take the person down. I don't want to waste motion, so I maintain the line. I control it here, as the hand comes up to strike, I move her off my lunge. She's moved to the side now, so I maintain control of this line. Don't get off the line, make her get off your line, it's your line to begin with. Control it."
