Video Transcript

"All right, we're moving on to one of my favorite sections, and this is Ryote Munedori. Munedori, technically, is a grab, it's a mid-level grab. I don't really, some people grab like this, but mostly the thing that we're going to deal with now, is going to be a two handed push. And I see a lot of people push like this, and I can't stand that. It needs to be a realistic push, just like that. And what I tell my Uke some times, is to think, get mad in your head and just give them one of those. Because you see that all the time. You got a problem with me, and they push each other. If you always deal with your pushes like this, you're never going to be prepared for someone that really pushes you. We're going to start this slow, and then we'll work up into it. The first technique is Iriminage. As he goes to push, I don't want to be right here, so I change the angle of attack. Tegatana Tenkan, or Tegatana Irimi, how I cut the line here. Or, Ukenagashi, here, just like this. You can also come just like that, if you want. We're going to just do Ukenagashi, right here, into Iriminage. So it's one, two. Slowly, one, two. Remember, on Iriminage, you have to be careful. Don't come like this, too far away because they'll see it coming. Iriminage, just like that. A little quicker. Now, what I like to do is start far away. Have him come up and push, bam, and then start even closer and closer. So then eventually he's standing right here to push. And then he pushes faster to where you're used to just moving off line as quick as possible."
